We’re in the middle of a Canadian Adventure! You’ve already had a preview with Lake Agnes and the Teahouse Hike and the Highwood Ridge Adventure. Today, I want to take a little time to tell you where we’ve been and where we’re going so you can follow our route as I post it over the course of this winter.
We started in Calgary, Alberta where we had so much fun, (it was a blast being a tourist in the city where we used to live)!
And…of course we ate lots of great food because that’s my (our) favorite pass time during vacation.
From Calgary we drove to the mountains, stopping first in the Kananskis region, moving to the town of Canmore, and onward to Banff National Park where we spent some lovely fall days. On a side note, I’ve never hiked Banff in the fall – it was stunning an way less crowded!
After Banff we drove north up the Icefields Parkway which is one of the most scenic drives in the world, (a fact I can now attest to)! We had so much fun in the Icefields and even got to do a guided Glacier Trek up the Athabasca Glacier (top photo). Finally, we’re headed to Waterton for the last of the adventures.
The final photo here is from Lake Morraine in Banff National Park. You can see why it’s one of the most photographed lakes in the entire world. The morning we took this shot, I actually had it together and we had the tripod set up before sunrise! I have to admit I felt kinda small showing up with my modest equipment among the pros, but it was worth it!
P.S. We’ve started taking High Definition (HDR) photos recently, I have a lot to learn but I love branching more into landscape photos. Let me know what you think!

I absolutely love your photos. Please keep posting them.
Thanks for the feedback about the photos! We’ll be doing a series of posts this winter for several months about all the adventures along the way.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! The HDR photo is stunning!! Good work. Miss you guys!
Next year, you’ll have to get some HDR shots at Lake Morraine too (those rocky peaks were made for a good camera)!
