As we headed south toward Newport we said goodbye to the last of the sun rays. In the morning, we were lucky enough to catch a bit of sun for our walk on the beach. Even though our Newport days were foggy, it was definitely our favorite coastal town in Oregon. Although, it should be said that we may be partial due to the fact that we discovered two excellent restaurants. I tend to be enthusiastic about anywhere with good eats.
Today I just couldn’t resist posting a few photos of Spring. Even though they don’t qualify as an adventure, I wanted to share my Spring excitement with you. Be sure to check back on Friday for the usual weekly adventure.
The crocuses are blooming and the lilacs are budding. I’m so excited to see the green emerging in the landscape. I know that the abundance of summer produce is about to begin. I always get overly excited to go to Farmer’s Market again because everything tastes better when it is freshly picked. In addition to that, the snow in the mountains is melting and in a few weeks we will be able to start hiking some of the mountains closer to the valley.
It was a phenomenal day in the mountains just west of Calgary in a town called Canmore. Canmore is situated in a corridor created by two mountain ranges running along either side. Overlooking the town are two peaks that are connected by a ridge, Ha Ling Peak and Miner’s Peak. If you get started in the morning it is pretty easy to do both in a day.
We went out for dinner last night at Pescado Blanco, Mountain Mexican Cuisine in Whitefish, Montana. If you ever come to ski Whitefish Mountain Resort (Big Mountain), you should check it out. I almost always get the fish special, (pictured above) because they are just so good. Tyler’s favorite is the Super Burrito. One time we got the burrito for take-out and it weighed in at 4 pounds!
