We caught this gorgeous sunset on the way back from a hike on Going to the Sun road in Glacier National Park. The day couldn’t have been anymore spectacular. Perfect blue skies and sunshine are an elusive combination in the Flathead Valley during the winter. You can count yourself lucky if it coincides with your day off.
It was such a great day to be out. I can’t help but get excited for future summiting just as soon as the snow melts.
I found myself thinking of a scoop of ice cream melting in the August heat while looking at this oddly shaped piece of ice.

Um, yeah. Insanely jealous. And how did you get the sun to get all starry like that? Do you have one of those filters???
I didn’t use any filters. The shot was taken at sunset with ISO 200, f/22, and 1/125 shutter speed. Also I was laying down on the ice so the angle was about 45 degrees. Hope that helps.
