These 3 Quick and Easy Apple Slice Snacks are a healthy apple snack option that are easy to make and popular with kids. You’ll find 3 classic combos below from nut butter and berries to ham and cheese and chicken salad.
Nut Butter Granola Apple Slices:
3 – 1/2” slices from your favorite apple, cored, see notes
1 Tablespoon nut butter of choice, I like to use almond and cashew butter
1–2 Tablespoons granola, I used my Maple Cinnamon Granola
1 Teaspoon crushed freeze dried raspberries
Chicken Salad Apple Slices:
3 – 1/2” slices apple, core removed
1/4– 1/3 cup Chicken Salad, see notes
1 Teaspoon sliced green onions, optional as a garnish
Ham and Cheese Apple Slices:
3 – 1/2” slices apple, cored
1/4–1/2 Teaspoon Dijon Mustard
3 small slices aged cheddar cheese
To make the nut butter apple slices, spread the nut butter of your choice evenly over the 3 slices. Sprinkle the granola and freeze dried raspberries over the top.
To make the chicken salad apple slices, top each slice evenly with chicken salad and sprinkle with green onions if desired.
To make the ham cheese apple slices, smear a touch of Dijon mustard on each apple slice, (or add as much as you’d like). Then top each one with the ham and cheese slices.
Serve any of these apple slices snacks immediately. They do keep for several hours in the fridge, but the apples do brown a bit.
I used Pink Lady apples in this recipe, but I also love to use Honeycrisp and Granny Smith sometimes for it’s tartness.
I wrote each of these recipes as 1 snack of 3 apples slices for one person. But feel free to make as little or as many as you’d like. I measured these just for recipe purposes, but you can also just wing it as these barely qualify as recipes!
