I’ve been into all things tropical during the last couple months. I think it’s because winter is starting to feel extra long, and I just can’t wait to feel the warm sun on my face again!
I thought I might get a little reprieve when I went to California to work for a week, but they had unusually cold weather, and I found myself wishing I had brought my down coat along. Everyone kept asking if I thought it was cold, seeing as how I was used to much colder Montana weather. But I always maintain that humid cold fronts off the ocean are some of the coldest, most bone chilling weather there is!
In any case, I’ve been making tropical smoothies several days a week because they seem to hit that winter spot just right. This one is particularly good with just a touch of spices like cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric to warm up the flavors.
If you want a more traditional Golden Milk recipe, check out my Golden Milk Iced Latté which can also be made hot. But I’ve been finding lately that it’s much easier just to take the same Golden Milk flavors, and add them to a smoothie. Plus you can’t beat the bright tropical flavors!
For this smoothie, simply add everything to a blender…
… and blend until smooth!
I sure hope you enjoy this liquid sunshine as much as we do!
P.S. For a smaller serving size, check out the second recipe!

This is seriously a superfood smoothie, it sounds so fresh and tasty! (And you really captured that with the photos I think – they look great!)
Thank you, I hope you get to enjoy it sometime!
This smoothie looks so refreshing and perfect for spring! What a great way to get turmeric in 🙂
I’m definitely ready for spring even it it’s still a winter wonderland outside!
Whoa, this looks so darn good! Pineapple, mango, banana, and turmeric in a tropical smoothie= Yum!
It’s definitely an addicting combo!
WOw ! Another wonderful turmeric smoothie recipe ! I absolutely love turmeric. It’s so good for you. Thanks for sharing. I will make this !
I hope you enjoy it, smoothies and curries are my favorite way to enjoy turmeric!
PERFECT for our hot Hawaiian Summers! These will be on ration this June. Yum!
Hawaii sounds pretty good right now, I’ve been tropical dreaming lately!
This will totally hit the spot tomorrow! I just started adding turmeric and ginger to my smoothies a couple months ago and love it!
Ginger is one of my favorites, especially in green smoothies, but turmeric is a new one for me and I’m loving it!
I’m so like you in that I need tons of tropical kinds of things in the winter. I even start playing my ukulele to remind me of Hawaii! This smoothie looks awesome though – my kids are mango monsters so I don’t think I’d have a single complaint if I made this 🙂
I figure whatever it takes to get through this many months of snow!
This is my kind of smoothie. I LOVE Golden Milk. Can’t wait to try this!!
Me too, so this smoothie was an instant hit!
I make a similar mix with homemade kefir instead of coconut milk, banana and pineapple (kind of in season and on sale, now 🙂 ). Re the turmeric … here in northwest Montana my local grocery and all of the natural food markets are now carrying turmeric root. If you are mincing or grating ginger, just keep on going and grate some turmeric root, too! I also throw in a 1/4 tsp cayenne and a bit more black pepper. I’ve read that black pepper and fat (plenty in whatever milk) are needed to help the body make best use of turmeric. Cayenne goes great with the tropical fruits and melons – 1/4 tsp sounds like a lot but in the smoothie it gives a nice zip and cayenne has powerful health benefits also.
I’ll have to give the cayenne a try, it sounds wonderful! 🙂
Hi, Kari- Do you have a go-to source you could recommend for buying tumeric powder? Any suggestions are appreciated!
I buy mine from the brand Simply Organic, and I’ll leave you a link below. I like to buy organic spices because conventional spices often have extra ingredients in them that I’d prefer not to consume, also conventional spices are irradiated. My local health food store runs sales on the Simply Organic brand and I’ve slowly been stocking my cabinet. I hope this helps and be sure to let me know if you have anymore questions!

Thanks for the resource, I’ll be sure to check it out!
No problem, I hope it helps!
