This Pina Colada Green Smoothie has been a long time favorite that makes getting your greens in sweet and tasty!
I have a history of coming up with a new green smoothie recipe, and then I drink it on repeat for months on end! The only thing I do try and vary is the type of greens I use in my smoothie. This way you don’t overdose on one particular green, and you rotate through the different nutrients.
Last winter my obsession I was drinking non-stop was this Pineapple Orange Banana Green Smoothie. And the winter before that, it was this Berry Green Smoothie, (which conveniently uses frozen berries).
Going into this winter season, it’s been all about this Pina Colada Green Smoothie. I’ve been drinking it most days of the week, and I just never get tired of it.
The only thing I’d say about this particular smoothie, is it’s best consumed right away. There’s something that goes wonky with the coconut flavor in this smoothie if it sits for a few hours.
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the coconut flavor I love in this smoothie turns soapy in nature a few hours later. Tyler said the same thing, so it might not be just me, and I thought I’d warn you not to keep it in the fridge.
Meal Prepping Tip: Another thing I love about this smoothie, is it still tastes great even if you’re using frozen fruit. As part of our weekly meal prep, I often cut up a whole pineapple and freeze it. Then whenever I have ripe bananas and I’m not ready to use them, I peel/slice/and freeze them as well.
I love the vibrant bright green color and tropical flavors of this smoothie. You can almost picture yourself sipping away on a beach somewhere – or is that just me as well!?!

Three things I love to add to this smoothie are:
- A touch of vanilla extract enhances the whole tropical thing even more.
- Or a slice or two of fresh ginger for immune boosting and great flavor.
- And finally I almost always add a tablespoon (for 64 ounces of smoothie) of spirulina powder to my green smoothies. You can read more here about my favorite Superfood Smoothie Boosters. But spirulina is one of my favorites because it’s absolutely packed with nutrition, including the all important beauty vitamin – vitamin A!
