Description

The classic smoothie combo turned into a veggie packed green smoothie!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup liquid of choice, I love either fresh orange juice, ginger kombucha, or canned coconut milk

1 ripe banana, peeled and broken into 1” pieces

2 cups frozen strawberries, 8 ounces

24 cups spinach, see notes

Optional: dash of vanilla extract

Additions:

1 Teaspoon Hawaiian spirulina, see notes

12 Tablespoons chia seeds or flax meal

Instructions

Add the ingredients to a high powered blender in the order listed.

Secure the lid, and blend starting on low and working up to high speed.

Blend on high until completely smooth, about 1 minute.

Enjoy right away for the best flavor!

– The color of this smoothie varies every time I make it because strawberries really vary with how red they are.-

Notes

If you’re new to green smoothies, start with the least amount of greens, (or even less if it’s not to your taste). I’ve found over time I like to add more and more greens to my smoothies. But this was definitely not the case when I first started drinking them.

I like to use Hawaiian spirulina because it’s the only spirulina I’ve ever used that never has a fishy taste or smell!

The nutritional information was calculated with orange juice, 2 cups spinach, and chia seeds.
