Next place the canned tomatoes with their juices into a blender and blend until your desired consistency is reached.

Then preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and briefly sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds before adding in the blended tomatoes.

Add the sprig of basil or the oregano and submerge in the sauce. Then bring the sauce to a simmer without stirring.

Simmer the sauce over low heat for 20 minutes or until thickened. Try not to stir so the sauce doesn't splatter, the liquid will build on the surface as the sauce cooks undisturbed. Remove the basil sprig.

Season the finished marinara with sea salt until it's to your taste, and that's it!

Serve the marinara as desired, both pasta and Chicken Parmesan are great as well as the other suggestions on the blog. You can also meal prep this and freeze to have on hand for quick and easy meals.
